Ms. Surayo Buzurukova is a Team Leader of Governance and Rule of Law Unit in the UNDP Sudan. Ms. Buzurukova brings over 20 years of professional development experience, covering issues related to institutional capacity development and reform, policy development and implementation, negotiation and management, democratic governance and rule of law, as well as profound knowledge of development issues in Russia, Middle East, Africa and Asia. During her career in UNDP, she served as Senior Governance Advisor in UNDP Tajikistan (2006-2008) and Manager for Parliament project in UNDP Timor-Leste (2008-2009). Prior to her career in UNDP she worked with bilateral and multilateral organizations in managing programmes development in complex field situation. Ms. Buzurukova led International Migration's out of country election initiatives to countries as Syria, Afghanistan and Iran; coordinated regional responses to significant and politically volatile displacements of people and helped position of organization to undertake major emergency response and rehabilitation during the parliamentary and presidential elections.
Surayo Buzurukova holds Master's Degree in International Economy from Academy of International Relationships, Moscow (Russia), and educated as international sustainable development practitioner at the Universities of Brandeis (USA) and Lund (Sweden).
