Maristella Aldana is the Chief of the Office of Institutional Integrity (OII) of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), an independent office responsible for ensuring IDB Group financed activities adhere to the highest ethical standards. In this capacity, Ms. Aldana leads a multidisciplinary group that investigates allegations of fraud and corruption in activities financed by the IDB Group and seeks the imposition of administrative sanctions when such practices are substantiated. She also leads the team responsible for carrying out prevention activities, including advisory services, training, and development of policies and tools designed to identify, assess and mitigate integrity risk. Ms. Aldana joined the IDB in 2002 and prior to joining OII in 2012, she was a Lead Attorney of the Legal Department and an Advisor to the Executive Vice-President. Earlier in her career Ms. Aldana worked as an international associate at the Latin America Practice Group of Wilmer Cutler & Pickering in Washington D.C. and as an associate at Gomez Pinzon & Asociados in Colombia.

A citizen of Colombia and the United States, Ms. Aldana holds a law degree from Universidad de los Andes in Colombia, a Master equivalent in International Public Law from Pantheon-Assas, (Paris II) and a Master in Laws from Georgetown University. She is admitted to practice law in New York and Colombia.
