Carlos Hernández is the co-founder and president of the Association for a More Just Society (AJS). He is also president of the civil society coalition Transformemos Honduras and a member of the board of directors of the Alliance for Peace and Justice in Honduras. Hernández received his bachelor’s degree from the National Autonomous University in Honduras in 1994, and a Project Planning and Evaluation Certificate from the Pontificia Catholic University in Peru in 2007. He has worked as a community educator, school principal, and leader in multiple community development programs. Since founding AJS, he has become an opinion leader in Honduras on public policies, civil society, and social oversight, particularly in the themes of security, transparency, and rule of law.
