Ruth Freedom Pojman is an international expert with two decades of experience working on forced labour, human rights, migration, conflict management, and anti-corruption issues, especially from an economic perspective. Her advisory company was set up to:
• Advise agencies, corporations, and organizations on ethical, environmental, social and governance (ESG) responsibility with regard to policy, regulation and practice: Peace and security, business and human rights, forced labour/human trafficking, illicit trade, migration, ethical procurement and supply chain transparency
• Capacity building through both asynchronous and synchronous E-learning courses/modules as well as in-person training
• Engage relevant stakeholders in multi-stakeholder initiatives, Track II Diplomacy
• Conduct due diligence, assessments, evaluations and risk analysis/assessments
• Assist on compliance and reporting regarding functions and trends that have the potential to impact human rights, security, and sustainability.

Has/is currently advising/collaborating with the following sectors: academia, business, foundations, FBO, government, NGO/CSO, think tanks, and IOs (including the EU, ILO, OSCE, UNDP). For example she is/has worked on EU-Brazil Dialogues on Business and Human Rights; with the ILO to support the forced labour work of FUNDAMENTALS, co-authored a global guide on the Reintegration of Victims of Forced Labour through Skills Development and Lifelong Learning, conducted E-learning on the prevention of forced labor, on Global Skills Partnerships, and supported the Uzbekistan Ministry of Employment and Labour Relations. In 2021-2022 she supported the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) to develop tools to and to conduct assessments on trafficking in persons risks in MCC compact and threshold projects, in sectors/activities such as: roads, port facilities and transportation; dams and reservoir; water and wastewater treatment facilities; energy and power; education and schools; and agriculture, as well as to conduct capacity building of infrastructure contractors. In 2019, she led the organization of the first International Conference on Tackling Modern Slavery, Forced Labour and Human Trafficking in Public Sector Supply Chains, Queen Elizabeth ll Centre, London, U.K. for the Ethical Trading Initiative.

She serves on several Advisory Boards and Steering Committees: Humanity United’s Global Advisory Group to Forced Labour and Human Trafficking, Rotary Club Vienna Maria Theresia, Houston World Cup host city human rights stakeholder group, as well as Your Public Value’s Steering Committee. She previously served on the Responsible Labour Initiative of the Responsible Business Alliance. She is a member of the Austrian Chamber of Commerce.

Pojman was the Deputy Coordinator and Senior Advisor, OSCE Office of the Special Representative and Coordinator for Combating Trafficking in Human Beings (OSR/CTHB). There she worked with the Special Representative to support the 57 participating States of the OSCE on the implementation of international instruments and commitments, through country visits, conferences, capacity building, research, legal and policy level analysis and recommendations. She led the Office’s work on issues relating to the application of principles of due diligence and transparency in addressing risks of exploitation throughout supply chains, to encourage governments to harmonize national standards, including on ethical sourcing in public procurement and fair recruitment. She catalyzed the development of a first global best practice in due diligence policy to ensure that an IO’s procurement practices do not contribute to human trafficking in their own supply chains, and directed the
