Eguiar Lizundia is an international development professional with public, private and non-profit experience. Currently, Eguiar works as a Senior Manager for Governance at the International Republican Institute. Prior to IRI, Eguiar helped design, implement and evaluate public sector management reform projects in Latin America and Africa at the World Bank. Originally from the Canary Islands, Spain, he has worked at the Organization of American States and the National Democratic Institute. Previously, Eguiar was a consultant in Madrid, and a researcher in Buenos Aires. He holds a Bachelor's Degree from Universidad Complutense de Madrid, an International Diploma from Sciences Po Paris and a Master’s of Science in Foreign Service from Georgetown University. Eguiar writes regularly for Spanish media outlets, is a contributor on Spanish radio and has published opinion pieces in The American Interest, The Hill and The Diplomatic Courier.
